سالزبورغ

Salzburg, the 4th largest city of Austria and a city of opposites, greatly combines architecture and nature, tradition and modernism as well as old and new. It is a city close to the German border and captivates its visitors and inhabitants with a spectacular view of the Alps.

Geographically, Salzburg is split in two by the Salzach River. On its left, you can find the astonishing old city or “Altstadt” with marvellous baroque and mediaeval buildings. On its right, the 19th-century new city or “Neustadt” is located with its modern buildings and lively neighbourhoods.

Salzburg is a city that offers something for everyone. Here you will find activities for young and old and everything in between. The cultural and musical offers around the city are endless and you can visit museums, concerts and exhibitions of all kinds. For visitors looking to experience the Austrian and also great international cuisines, the various restaurants and cafés are spread out all across the city. Several clubs ensure a lively nightlife for people to dance the night away. Families also have a great choice of activities when exploring Salzburg. Whether that be going to the toy museum, the nature museum or enjoying one of the rides in the old market square - everyone will be able to enjoy themselves when visiting.

Internationally known as the birthplace of the famous Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, you can trace his steps throughout the city and meanwhile admire the incredible views, historic buildings and incredible marketplaces.

Get your bearings

There is a reason that Salzburg has been known as a musical centre for centuries. When you visit the city, be sure to experience one of the many concerts that are on show throughout the entire year. These shows cover everything from classical music to modern pop or RnB. In the most fantastic locations, you will for sure be able to enjoy yourself and discover some great new musical experiences.

Don’t miss

Take in the breathtaking view from Fortress Hohensalzburg, a large medieval fortress. Constructed in 1077 it is now one of the largest fortresses in all of Europe. From there you can overlook the city as well as admire the surrounding nature and the incredible view of the Alps. Several museums also await you inside the fortress; some rooms have been reconstructed, and you can take a tour of those and get a feel of history.

While you’re there

Follow Mozart’s footsteps around the city and visit all the amazing places that he was connected to. You are able to have a look inside his birthplace and stroll along the street he grew up in and played in as a little boy. This is also one of the most photogenic alleys you will find around the city. Don’t forget to end your day with one of the famous Mozartkugeln, a delicious praline named after the renowned composer.
